HANNAH + STU

Marquee Wedding

"You've been the perfect fit for us throughout, from our initial chats right through to the moment our friends wouldn't let you leave our wedding!! People always say that it's good not to notice your photographer, and in some moments we didn't. But in others, you were very much present, part of our gang and a real pleasure to be around! We are so grateful to have found you. We honestly don't know how you do it!"

What can I tell you about Hannah & Stu’s Suffolk marquee wedding? Well, what I can tell you for sure is this. No matter what I tell you in the next couple of paragraphs, nothing will do this one justice. This was one of my favourite weddings of the year. Hell, this was one of my favourite weddings of all time! Even as a self-confessed over-user of superlatives, I don’t have the repertoire to do this one justice.

I’ve shot a few weddings in Suffolk now, but this was the stand-out for me. Hannah & Stu found me on Instagram and, as soon as they got in touch and told me about their Suffolk marquee wedding, I was counting the days until this one arrived. A good, rustic, DIY wedding is just awesome to me. When the day is so stripped back like that, it feels so much more personal to me. It is not a day about centre pieces or chair covers, it’s about the people who are there and everyone who has helped make it happen. It’s about relationships and connections and that is what makes the day. Let’s also not overlook the fact that the limelight was stolen on various occasions by the overwhelmingly cute Gus. If you have a dog, bring them to your wedding. It’s just better. Fact!

Suffolk Wedding Photographer

Everything about this Suffolk Marquee wedding had been thought about, and showed just how brilliant everyone involved was. For example, in the days leading up to the wedding, the farmer who offered up the land for the marquee made the effort to bale the hay in the field next door so we had the option of using them for photos. Hannah and her family made the bouquets. Stu and the groomsmen made the buttonholes. Hannah’s Dad drove his Daughter to the ceremony in the family pick-up truck, across the fields and through the woods, rather than down the road. Stu and Hannah left the ceremony in Stu’s classic Ford Escort rally car (eventually, after he’d stalled it, that is!). Oh, and the drinks reception was coupled with a welly-wanging contest. Yep, that’s a thing, and it was awesome!

Right, I’m done. Like I said, I could go on for hours but the photos will say everything that needs to be said about this one. Hannah & Stu, you guys are rock stars! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day. Yours was one of the best weddings of my life!
