Another weekend, another awesome engagement shoot…
Having lived in Cambridge and Ely for a decent period of time, I always look forward to going back to Suffolk…especially when I get to shoot engagement pictures like these for old friends!
A bit of background:
Lucy and I used to work together, so when she got in touch to let me know she was getting married, I was already getting excited about the prospect of getting back to Suffolk to shoot. So, a couple of weekend’s ago, I set a very early alarm and, after a couple of strong coffee’s, arrived in Newmarket at 8am to meet Lucy & Alex for their engagement shoot.
We took the opportunity to recce the church and a couple of awesome post-ceremony portrait spots in the surrounding countryside before heading back to Lucy’s Parents’ house (also their reception venue) in Soham for a quick cuppa and more pictures.
This is going to be one heck of a Wedding and, after getting these guys in front of my camera for a couple of hours, I can’t wait to be a Suffolk Wedding Photographer again.
This shoot also gave me the opportunity to test out the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 I have on-loan. I’ve been contemplating a move to the Fuji systems for a while now, so it was great to give the X-Pro 1 a run out alongside my trusty Canon 5d3’s and play around with some files.
Anyway, that’s enough from me. Jess has just shouted “there’s cake if you want some” from the kitchen, so I’m off! Plenty more cool stuff coming to the blog soon, including the awesome Wedding of Mr & Mrs Darke at the amazing Odo’s Barn in Kent, so keep your eyes peeled. Until next time, here are my favourites from an awesome morning in Suffolk…
