If one thing is for sure, the emergence of Covid-19 has given us all an opportunity to pause and reflect on what really is important. If someone had sat with me around the 2019 Christmas dinner table and told me that a global pandemic would effectively wipe out my calendar and a Kent lockdown wedding would be something I’d shoot in 2020, I’d have laughed in their faces. This situation is something you only see in movies and instantly dismiss as being ‘a little far-fetched’, right?

Well, apparently not. But, in amongst this here sea of doom and gloom, there have been small but strong rays of light. Alex & David are absolutely one of the strongest rays of light I’ve seen this year! After we’d moved the big party to next year and got the diaries all lined up, Alex & David sent me that joyous message saying “we’re still getting married on August 1st. Wanna come?”. There was only ever going to be one answer. Despite a massively reduced guest list and the need for social distancing, this was one of the best weddings I’ve been to!

Kent Lockdown Wedding

Alex knew she wanted to have a boho-inspired look, but what she put together was amazing. Her dress came from Demelza Hospice in Canterbury, which she later returned so they could benefit from another sale!! How good is that? Well, it gets better! The dress went perfectly with her veil, which was first worn by her Great Grandmother in 1929, and handed down through the generations since!! Talk about emotional moments putting that on!

Just wall to wall fun, all day long. I have to say a massive thank you to Alex & David for having me along for the day. If someone had told me at the start of the year that this would be my first wedding of 2020, I wouldn’t have believed them. But what a way to kick off the year. Huge thanks guys. You were amazing. I cannot wait for the 2021 reunion and party!
